Dr. Sarita Vig, Professor, Earth and Space Science Dept, has been elected as Secretary and a member of the Executive Council of the Astronomical Society of India (ASI). Established in 1972, ASI has grown to become the prime association of professional astronomers in India with close to 1000 members. The objectives of the society are the promotion of Astronomy and related branches of science in India. -

The Kerala State Young Scientist Award
Dr. Ramiya AM, Assistant Professor, Department of Earth Sciences was awarded the Kerala State Young Scientist Award for the research contribution in Geospatial Science and Technology with a focus on LiDAR Remote Sensing. Kerala Government has instituted the KSYS (Kerala State Young Scientist ) Award

Dr. Ramiya AM, Assistant Professor, Department of Earth Sciences was awarded the Kerala State Young Scientist Award for the research contribution in Geospatial Science and Technology with a focus on LiDAR Remote Sensing. Kerala Government has instituted the KSYS (Kerala State Young Scientist ) Award to honor talented young Scientists in recognition of their outstanding contribution to Science and Technology from the state. The award was presented by Shri Pinarayi Vijayan, Chief Minister of Kerala, during Kerala Science Congress on Feb 10, 2022. Chief Minister's Gold Medal was presented during the ceremony. The award carries a research grant and support for attending an international conference.
